Club History

History

Blacktown City FC, formerly The Demons, was formed in 1953 as Toongabbie Soccer Club and changed their name to Blacktown City in 1979. The club competed in the National Soccer League in 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1989 and 1990.

The club has been at the highest level in New South Wales Premier League since, boasting an eviable success record.

Our club is the current defending Champions and have finished Premiers (1st in the League) on several occasions - 2001, 2002/03, 2004/05, 2006 and in 2007, our club took out the double, winning both the Premiership and then staging a miraculous comeback from 1-1 with ten men to defeat Bankstown City 3-1.

The club has a notable list of players that have proudly and succesfully, not only represented our club, but have also held distinguished careers in Australia and overseas.

Blacktown City players enjoy one of the best facilities available and their development is run under a professional curriculum, aimed at the development not only highly technical and skillful players but also responsible and mature young adults.
